Owned by CK Infrastructure Holdings Limited, Wellington Electricity is a major New Zealand electricity distributor.
Their core business is to manage the poles, wires and equipment that safely deliver electricity to more than 171,000 homes and businesses in the Wellington, Hutt Valley and Porirua regions.
Significantly, Wellington Electricity serves NZ Parliament, Victoria University and three hospitals.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
A resilient, up-to-date IT environment is crucial for Wellington Electricity. In 2019, when CNS was appointed as managed IT provider to the company, Wellington Electricity worked with their team to identify vulnerabilities that needed to be addressed.
“When CNS started working with us, our IT infrastructure was based in Australia, which was not ideal. We also needed to develop earthquake readiness, because Wellington is at high risk of outages caused by tectonic events,” says Warwick Glendenning, Manager of Information Technology, Wellington Electricity.
The first stage for Wellington Electricity’s IT makeover involved designing and implementing a head office network infrastructure based in New Zealand. All line-of-business applications had to be migrated to the new infrastructure from Australia, along with their associated data. At the same time, CNS moved Wellington Electricity from outdated software to Windows 10 and Office 365, so that employees could work with the latest productivity platforms.
CNS was also involved with the setup of earthquake-resilient data centres in three Wellington locations. They designed the racking, security and networking, then worked with application vendors and users to get it all working. An important element of the earthquake readiness project was addressing the regulatory requirements of New Zealand’s Commerce Commission.
Boris Wilkitzki and his team were instrumental in the design, integration and commissioning of the new IT environment. This work was a total success, completed on time and within budget. The new infrastructure has significantly improved the security of their systems and has also improved the monitoring and the speed of operation of IT platforms.
